Ryka is a 3 1/2 blue Dober-girl who has not received the best care lately. Luckily she was surrendered by her owner who could no longer provide proper care for her. They were away from home 12-18 hours a day leaving Ryka by herself all of that time. She arrived to rescue covered in fleas, missing a lot of hair (common for some blue Dobes) and nails way, way too long. She is also very overweight. We suspected hyperthyroidism, but her test came back negative. She is also HW-. Ryka may get some hair back now that we have rid her of fleas, but we suspect she will simply be a typical blue Dobe with a sparse coat. If her coat does remain the same, she will always need to wear coats or sweaters when it is colder. Ryka is cropped and docked, good with other dogs (large and small), good with cats and was fine with the three year old child that visited on the weekends in her previous home. Ryka loves riding in the car and going for walks (although she needs some leash work). She is a very pleasant girl who is looking forward to the rest of her new life. Ryka was adopted by a wonderful man who lives in Pittsburgh, PA. She is an only fur-child and the center of his world! Ryka finally has a loving home where she will never have to worry about a thing again. Thank you so much Joe!
